It's the best of the recent adventure games by far, to me.
Tastes differ, so I can't criticise that you found it boring or too off the wall... - but puzzles? Made no sense? I don't know what to say. I felt it's a fantastically designed game in that regard, with many alternative solutions, and as little or as much ingame help as you may need.
